Safety ResourcesSafety is of utmost concern for the continued success of the Emergency Service Organization Workers' Compensation Safety Group. The reduction in number of claims, severity and frequency of losses will not only keep premiums down, but will enable the continued payment of dividends for good performance. All ESO Group members should have written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or Standard Operating Guidelines (SOGs). Your SOPs/SOGs should address all key issues, including training, motor vehicle operation, protective gear, physical fitness and return to work. Our ESO Group has a large selection of safety resources and a group specific safety manual available to all group members at the Texas Mutual website. These safety resources are free and include DVDs and videos that you can borrow as well as downloadable handouts and pamphlets and streaming videos. To access these safety resources, go to www.texasmutual.com and log in to the Safety Resource Center. If you are a New User, follow the instructions on how to set up your username and password. Our Group Safety Committee is also here to help you. The committee meets quarterly to review our group losses and to discuss ways that our members can reduce the frequency and severity of claims. Periodic mailings and eblasts are sent out to the group members to bring their attention to problem areas and to help them implement changes to control these claims. The more we control our claims, the better chance for continued dividends to be paid to our group members. |
